Just south in Greenwood Heights, Baked in Brooklyn launched 40 years ago making pita bread and grew to produce pita chips and snacks. Their bakery, just across GreenWood Cemetery, offers fresh baked goods, including breadsticks, baguettes, boules, and multigrain loaves.

This family-owned business started in 1983, selling wood-fired loaves at their Catskills bakery or from the trunk of their station wagon at local farmers markets across NYC. Bread Alone’s loaves are baked at their Certified Organic bakery in Kingston, NY or at their carbon-neutral facility in Boiceville, NY. Their wood-fired breads include: levain, miche, seeded farm, peasant, NY rye, and olive.

Breadivore launched at the Park Slope farmers market in 2020, selling slow-fermented loaves, 100% rye bread, and more. At their newly opened brick-and-mortar you will find breads handmade every morning in small batches using local, organic flour and traditional French, Italian, and Northern European recipes. Try their pain Bordelais (40% whole wheat, 10% rye); walnut raisin pain de Campagne (65% whole wheat); or classic baguettes.
