If you’re looking to connect more with your community, Park Slope is a great place to be. From book clubs to trivia nights and dance parties, our neighborhood is full of opportunities to make new friends of all backgrounds and interests.
In this list, we’ve featured 15 local groups and businesses that are focused on cultivating community through hosting regular meetups & events for locals. This alphabetical list is not meant to be exhaustive, but it is a great place to start!

Brooklyn Brainery
Offering classes in everything from embroidery and mixology to improv and gut health, Brooklyn Brainery is a community-driven and crowdsourced education center with a goal of keeping courses as affordable as possible. Topics are suggested by attendees, and teachers are often Brooklyn-based. Classes run between one to four weeks long, and you’ll leave with a new skill—and very likely, some new friends!

Ginger’s Bar

Ginger’s Bar, which recently celebrated 25 years in the neighborhood, is Park Slope’s only lesbian bar and one of only a few remaining in the city. The vibe is inclusive and community centered, and the bar hosts regular events, music sessions, and dance parties, plus offers daily happy hour specials.

Leroy’s Place
This funky, colorful art gallery and gift shop is owned by a local husband & wife team and hosts community events in their whimsical space as well as outside in their courtyard during the summer months. Vintage pop-ups, DJ sets, and collaborations with local businesses are held on a monthly basis and are announced on their Instagram.
