Meet Sit Still Kids Park Slope: A New Kids’ Hair Salon Designed for Calm, Care, and Community
Presented by Sit Still Kids Park Slope
Sit Still Kids Park Slope is officially open - and it’s bringing a calmer, more joyful haircut experience to 5th Avenue.
Owned by longtime Park Slope resident and mom of two Suzy Mulvihill, Sit Still Kids Park Slope was created with one simple goal: to make haircut day easier for kids and parents.
After nearly 15 years in the neighborhood and a career spanning nonprofit and government leadership, Suzy was drawn to the idea of building something deeply local - a small business that supports families, creates jobs, and feels like a true community space. As a parent herself, she saw firsthand how stressful haircuts can be for kids and how overwhelming they can be for caregivers. Sit Still Kids was born out of that lived experience.
So what makes Sit Still Kids Park Slope different?
Every detail is designed with children in mind - from kid-friendly chairs and calming distractions to stylists who specialize in working with young clients and big feelings. The space is warm, welcoming, and intentionally low-stress, and just as thoughtfully created for parents - a comfortable, elevated space to pause, sip a drink, and enjoy a few peaceful moments while their child is cared for by experts.

Services include:
Children’s haircuts by trained, child-specialist stylists
Add-on services like sparkle strands, temporary tattoos and detangling
Thoughtfully selected, clean, kid-safe hair products
Birthday parties and group experiences (select weekends)
Located at 492 5th Avenue, Sit Still Kids Park Slope is now booking appointments and welcoming neighborhood families.
