Dial Up Days, a nostalgic new café serving ’90s & Y2K vibes, will open soon! The cafe is from the team behind Park Slope News Stand, operated by the Shabain family for over 60 years. Visit them at 83 7th Ave between Berkeley Pl & Union St.
Now open in the former Patti Ann’s space, The Vaux Social brings the spirit of an English public house to Brooklyn with a menu of elevated comfort food and “proper pours”.

Local shop The Analog Stationer is highlighted in an NBC feature about how the Supreme Court’s recent tariff ruling is impacting local businesses. On February 20, 2026, the Supreme Court ruled in a 6–3 decision that the president does not have the authority to impose sweeping, broad-based tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) of 1977.
An apartment building in Park Slope appears on the city’s annual list of the 250 most distressed residential properties. The building, located at 566 7th St between Prospect Park West and Eighth Ave, has 93 open violations.

Brooklyn’s Black Trailblazers @ Green-Wood Cemetery, 10am-12pm*: In celebration of trailblazers who paved the way in art, activism, music, and medicine, this trolley tour spotlights the Black pioneers of Brooklyn at rest in Green-Wood. You’ll visit the memorials of revolutionary artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, civil rights leaders Grace Nail Johnson and James Weldon Johnson, mathematician Charles L. Reason (the first Black college professor in the United States), and other visionaries who left a lasting impact on the ongoing fight for equality. $15.
Cultural Coffee Experience @ Principles Coffee House, 12-3pm: In honor of Black History Month, this event will highlight African Coffees (Rwanda, Uganda, and Ethiopia). Explore these coffees deep connection to communities through an Ethiopian coffee ceremony, tasting of 9 single-origin coffees, a photo gallery showcasing coffee's process and traditions, and authentic Ethiopian food. $15.

Pop Star Purim Celebration @ Congregation Beth Elohim & JJ Byrne Park, 9:30am: Unleash your inner superstar at our kid-friendly Pop Star Purim themed sing-along with the CBE family band, followed by a costume parade to J.J. Byrne Playground led by the Shag Horns (plus special guests!)—along with hamantaschen, Purim activity bags, and playground fun! During the 9:30-10:30 a.m. celebration, there will be a sensory-sensitive celebration in the Rotunda with differentiated Purim activities like face-painting, art-making, hamantaschen-tasting, and more. Drink N’ Draft @ Farm.One, 5pm: Stuck in your writing? In need of a little more time or inspiration? Drink ‘N Draft makes space for you to get out of your head and onto the page. Each night includes a series of visual prompts that lead you toward new creative choices in your work, and the chance to experiment with different styles of writing. You’re invited to write something new, continue a work-in-progress, or see where the evening takes you. The session will finish with optional time to share what you’ve written. All genres welcome, no experience necessary. $20 (tickets include $9 off any drink).
