Openings— Pottery Studio Hey Clay and premium grocery store Gowanus Marketplace are set to open over the summer at 420 Carroll Street in Gowanus [Brooklyn Paper]. Mitsuki Japanese Market in Park Slope will celebrate its grand opening March 15th and 16th. The first 50 customers will receive a free blind goodie bag full of snacks & surprises (worth up to $50). All customers can enjoy free rice balls until 2pm and BOGO items.
Cauvery, owner of Hey Clay Pottery Studio Entry to Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s 2025 Greenest Block in Brooklyn contest is now open! The contest, which is open to all residential blocks, commercial blocks, and community gardens, promotes streetscape gardening. Winners will be announced in August. Learn more here.

Landline Comedy @ Wild East Brewing (Gowanus), 8-10pm: Landline Comedy brings some of the funniest comedians in NYC (and sometimes out of towners too) to perform at Wild East Brewing in Brooklyn. There is usually a food pop up the night of the show as well. Bloom with us @ Christine Alcalay, 12pm & 2pm: Join Christine Alcalay Atelier for a serene and intimate afternoon of floral arranging and community connection, led by artist and floral designer Colleen Dodge. Inspired by the Japanese art of Ikebana, this event invites you to reconnect with nature, embrace simplicity, and celebrate the beauty of imperfection. Wealth with Purpose: Women on a Mission @ Green-Wood, 10am-12pm*: In celebration of the bold women who challenged the social, cultural, and political norms of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, this trolley tour will spotlight Green-Wood’s pioneering women and their inspiring stories. You’ll be captivated by Grace Nail Johnson, a civil rights activist and key figure in the Harlem Renaissance; Louisine Havemeyer, a socialite and philanthropist who was arrested for attempting to burn an effigy of Woodrow Wilson; Elizabeth Gloucester, a successful entrepreneur whose fortune funded John Brown’s raid on Harpers Ferry; and many more trailblazing women whose legacies continue to inspire. $15 ($12 for members).
Park Slope Food Coop Concert Series @ Shapeshifter Lab, 6:30pm: The @foodcoop has launched an exciting new concert series in collaboration with Shape Shifter Lab. Join them for an unforgettable night of live music and the perfect chance to support local artists while enjoying a vibrant community atmosphere. $10.
Sunday, March 16th:
Brooklyn St Patrick’s Day Parade, 1pm: Since 1975, the annual Brooklyn St. Patrick's Parade has brought together residents of all backgrounds to celebrate and raise awareness of Irish culture and heritage. For its 50th year, parade assembly will take place on Prospect Park West between 15th and 9th Streets, followed by a Rededication Ceremony in honor of the heroes and victims of 9/11 at 1pm. The parade will then step off at 1:30PM with participants marching from 15th Street & Prospect Park West, down 15th Street to 7th Avenue, along 7th Avenue to Garfield Place, up Garfield Place to Prospect Park West and along Prospect Park West returning to 15th Street. FREE.
Spring Pong @ Farm.One, 2pm: Farm.One is hosting a St. Patrick's Day party and ping pong tournament. Come hang at the farm and compete for prize money, but more importantly: bragging rights. Note: This is not for the faint of heart. This tournament is for non-professional players who dominate the rec room or community leagues! Entry Fee: $20 (Includes 1 Free Beer).
BKCM Celebrates Holi @ Prospect Park, 3-4pm: Join Mixed Masala and Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in celebrating Holi, the Festival of Colors. The celebration begins with picnicking and live music by the Nakshatra Trio. Bring a blanket and snacks to enjoy the free concert. At 4pm attendees will be invited to join in the traditional celebration of throwing colored powder. Wear white clothing and expect to get messy! Artist Talk and Collaborative Drawing @ Old Stone House, 7-9:30pm: Join artists from the current exhibition America the Beautiful for brief artists talks and collaborative drawing. All participants will take part in creating drawings that are passed from person to person. America the Beautiful features a collection of diverse artists who approach art making ferociously. These artists simultaneously acknowledge the complexities of our nation’s history and current political, environmental and social turmoil, while creating deeply thoughtful and meticulously crafted works that celebrate what it is to be American today. The selected works, all created within the swirling chaos of the last ten years, exhibit a personal meditation on the outside world, while honing and celebrating the actionable personal power inherent in art making. $12.51.

Ukrainian Easter Egg Workshop for Families @ Private Picassos (Clinton Hill— Saturday, April 12th, 9:30-11am: Learn how to decorate your own Easter Eggs, using the traditional Ukrainian technique of beeswax and dye resist. 🥚Each student will create their own Pysanka (Ukrainian Easter Egg) and leave with directions for how to recreate this experience on their own.
