As we reported back in March, Bathhouse is opening a new location at 540 Atlantic Avenue (near 3rd Avenue) - the opening is confirmed for this Saturday May 16, bringing its signature mix of thermal pools, saunas, and spa treatments to Boerum Hill. The fast-growing NYC concept (with locations in Williamsburg and Flatiron) is continuing its expansion with this large-scale Brooklyn space. Bookings are now open on their website with day passes starting at $29!
Nacha Focaccia, a black women–owned vegan café, opens in Crown Heights this weekend! The café is named after founders Naima and Charlise (“Na” for Naima. “Cha” for Charlise), and will be offering island-inspired focaccia, coffee, and community-focused treats.
Micro-bakery Marbré is soon to open at 186 5th Ave (near Sackett St) at the old Le Fournil and Julien Boulangerie spot. Dedicated to madeleines, a French sponge cake, this is the shop’s first brick-and-mortar store.
Family-owned dessert franchise Cookies N’ Cream is opening a new location in Park Slope at 685 5th Avenue between 20th & 21st St. They will offer over 23 soft-baked cookies varieties. Get a sneak peak!
Wine Bar Wallace, from former Black Mountain Wine House alumni, has soft-opened on Vanderbilt Avenue! Get a first look on The Strong Buzz.
Chinese Mandarin immersion school Ms. Lam Montessori has opened at 125 5th Avenue between Sterling Pl & St Johns Pl. Registration for their summer programs is now open!

The NYRR Brooklyn Half Marathon will be held this Saturday, May 16th. 29,000 runners are expected to participate, and the race will kick off in Prospect Park and end at Coney Island. Check out info on street closures and no parking zones here.
The DOT announced plans for new Bike Boulevards on Bergen and Dean Streets from Court Street to East New York Avenue. These re-designed bike lanes will prioritizes cyclists and pedestrians while maintaining local vehicle access.

Congrats to Russ & Daughers— their cookbook, Russ & Daughters: 100 Years of Appetizing is nominated for a James Beard Media award! This Jewish Bakery, which originally opened on the LES in 1914, opened their Brooklyn outpost at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in 2019.
Edy Massih of Edy's Grocer in Greenpoint and Samaya Boueri Ziade of Park Slope's Sawa will host a one day only brunch to benefit Lebanon, at Sawa, on Saturday May 30th. The brunch is $65 for four courses, and reservations go live today!
