We're Hiring: Brooklyn Content Creator (Part-Time)
Park Slope, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene & Clinton Hill
Our Brooklyn hyperlocal media network is growing. We’re looking for a part-time Brooklyn Content Creator to capture Instagram content across our neighborhood pages: @parkslopeliving, @cobblehillcollective, and @clintonhillcorner.
Our established platforms reach 70K+ local followers and subscribers and generate millions of local impressions per month.
If you love the neighborhood you live in - Park Slope, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene or Clinton Hill - have a strong eye for what makes these neighborhoods special, care deeply about the local businesses and community behind them, and have experience creating content that gets real engagement on Instagram - I’d love to hear from you.
This role starts at approximately 3-5 hours per week, with the opportunity to expand to 12 hours per week as the pages and platform grow. At lower hours you’d focus on one or two neighborhoods initially and expand from there.
Over time, the right person will become deeply knowledgeable across all 3 neighborhood pages.
What you’ll do
Capture photo and video content across our neighborhoods - shops, restaurants, bars, events, and the everyday moments that make these blocks worth living on
Create carousel and reel content that drives genuine engagement
Draft sponsored content in collaboration with local business partners for review before posting
Maintain a content calendar with a minimum of 3 posts per week
Engage with the community through comments and DMs
Forward news and events from daily sources to our Substack team
Analyze Instagram insights and share recommendations on what is and is not working
Cover breaking neighborhood updates including openings & closings as soon as time allows
Who you are
Based in any of our coverage neighborhoods (Park Slope, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, or their surrounding neighborhoods)
Genuinely able and willing to travel across all four neighborhoods and their surrounding neighborhoods on a regular basis - this is core to the role, not occasional
Strong visual instinct - you see a shot before you take it
Organized and reliable - you follow through, hit deadlines, and communicate proactively
Community-focused, not lifestyle-focused: you care about local businesses and their goals, not just getting content
Comfortable being on camera from time to time
Responsive during agreed working hours (roughly 9am-5pm weekdays)
Excited to grow into more responsibility over time
Available through the year with flexibility week-to-week based on content needs
What you bring
Experience creating compelling carousel and reel content - with live examples and Instagram insights to back it up
Demonstrated engagement on content you’ve created (likes, comments, shares, saves)
Good communication skills - you’re a natural ambassador when interacting with neighbors, local businesses, and organizations
Ability to take feedback, improve, and reduce rework over time
Ability to adhere to a content guide and brand voice
Comfortable with Canva, CapCut, and/or Instagram Edits - or equivalent tools
Understanding of Instagram trends, formats, and what’s performing on the platform right now
Nice to have
Interest in writing for our Substack publication, including Park Slope Pulse, Cobble Hill Collective
Experience running and posting to a public Instagram page and managing DMs
Interns welcome
Compensation & growth
$17-23/hour depending on experience
Potential for increased hours, higher pay, and additional perks based on performance - including visiting local businesses, trying products/services, and taking on more projects aligned with your interests
Start date: June 2026
