Arts & science non-profit Pioneer Works announced the completion of a $12.7M renovation of their 150-year-old former ironworks factory space in Red Hook [Brooklyn Paper].
A compromise has been reached in Windsor Terrace’s controversial Arrow Linen rezoning development. The deal will likely result in two 10 story residential buildings, which are shorter than the previously planned 13 story buildings, with a greater number of rent regulated apartments [Brownstoner].
With only 40 restaurant applications approved for NYC’s official outdoor dining program, the Department of Transportation announces that NYC restaurants can open their outdoor dining structures on April 1st regardless of the status of their license [Grub Street].

A Black History Month Family Singalong & Celebration @ Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, 4-4:45pm: All families are invited to join BKCM for a sing-along in honor of Black History Month! This event will be an educational, multimedia and interactive experience that’s perfect for kids ages 2-6 years old and their families. Hosted by BKCM faculty member and Director of DEI Uton Onyejekwe and accompanied by BKCM faculty member Lafayette Harris, the sing-along will allow children to explore the influence of prominent Black musicians and civil rights leaders in American history through song, dance and video. $8 suggested donation.
Crafty Hour @ Mathilde Brooklyn, 5-8pm: This Crafty Hour with local artist Erin Scottberg of @fullsunstudio_bk will flash you back to middle school with February’s craft---embroidery floss bracelets. Cultural Coffee Experience @ Principles GI Coffee House, 12-3pm: In honor of Black History Month, this event will highlight African Coffees (Rwanda, Kenya, and Ethiopia). Explore these coffees deep connection to communities through an Ethiopian coffee ceremony, tasting of 9 single-origin coffees, photo gallery showcasing coffee’s process and traditions, and authentic Ethiopian food. Kobie Dozier @ Public Records, 7pm: LA artist Kobie Dozier will be hosting his EP release and relief concert at Public Records. "As many of you know I’m from LA so seeing the wildfires destroy so many homes has really impacted me.
