Sushi restaurant Yamato closed this week after 30 years of service in Park Slope.

V Spot, the vegan restaurant that has been in the neighborhood for twenty years, has officially closed.
Puppet Works, which has been in Park Slope for 40 years, is looking for a new home. They are still operating from their current location and are performing “Aladdin & the Wonderful Lamp” through April 7th.

The Brooklyn Museum is launching a $13 million new project to renovate and design permanent galleries for its historic African art collection, which will include revamped 6,400-square-foot galleries and will feature an inaugural installation of over 300 works from antiquity to the present.
Community Board 6, which represents the neighborhoods of Park Slope, Gowanus, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Red Hook and the Columbia Street Waterfront, passed a resolution advocating for the New York City Department of Transportation to be responsible for handing out parking tickets instead of the NYPD.
After a decade of more than 9,000 crashes, + 2,700 injuries & 8 fatalities in dangerous streets and intersections across Park Slope, The St. Johns Community Association released a Pedestrian & Traffic Safety Proposal for Park Slope. The proposal is being submitted to the Brooklyn DOT Commissioner Keith Bray and is seeking support from Community Board 6, District 39th, the 78th Precinct, and local elected officials.
