Opening- Psta, a new pasta shop, will be opening in the former Thermostat Cafe space on Flatbush Ave.

A five-alarm fire tore through a warehouse complex on Van Brunt Street, destroying inventory and severely damaging gallery spaces at 475-499 Van Brunt. Artists and small businesses are displaced; Red Hook Open Studios in October will serve as a benefit. Support the businesses and artists affected and donate here
As we reported last week, Steve’s C-Town on 9th St & 5th Ave is closing down in the next few weeks. Join Assemblymember Robert Carroll and City Councilmember Shahana Hanif this Monday September 29 5:30pm @ Park Slope Library (8th St & 5th Ave) as they hear from area residents and discuss how we can ensure a supermarket remains in this space so that there is enough fresh, affordable food in our area. Closing: We’re so sad to report a few businesses that have recently announced they are shutting their doors. Parashades will be closing on Saturday, September 27th. Pisces Sushi & Fish Market will be closing as Foodtown expands into that space. Their final day was yesterday, September 24th. Golden Shovel Cafe announced they will be closing soon.

1st Annual Curriculum Night Happy Hour @ Annie’s Blue Ribbon General Store, 5-7pm: Annie’s is throwing their own version of Curriculum Night and everyone’s invited!
