Opening: Terrace Bookstore, an outpost of Community Bookstore, has moved to 1624 10th Ave at the corner of Windsor Pl in Windsor Terrace. Join them on Saturday, November 9th for a grand opening party featuring story time, cider & snacks, and a toast to local authors.
Park Slope resident makes a triumphant return to the marathon after suffering a stroke: Larry Lewis, a Brooklyn resident since 1983, suffered a stroke in 2018, forcing him to re-learn to walk. That year would have been his 34th consecutive TCS New York City Marathon. Last weekend, he returned to the marathon in an aerodynamic racing chair with a running partner provided by the New York City-based adaptive running nonprofit Achilles International. [Patch].

Holiday Open House @ Annie’s Blue Ribbon General Store, 4-7pm: Kick off the holiday season by shopping new holiday arrivals and enjoying cocktails, cupcakes, and fun giveaways! FREE.
House Party @ Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, 7-10pm: Yesterday, BKCM announced a major, last minute change to their annual House Party. They will now have three free stages of live music outside their building for the entire community. “EVERYONE is welcome. We need music, and we need to be together!” they said on Instagram. We’re all #grateful, but we’re not all great cooks. Whether you store sweaters in your stove (a la Carrie Bradshaw) or you simply prefer to spend the day being thankful instead of baking, not to worry. Here are four local restaurants serving sit-down Thanksgiving meals guaranteed to make everyone happy!
Vietnamese restaurant Bricolage will serve a three course prix-fixe meal for $85 per person, with a choice of a starter, entrée, and dessert. Delicious options include coconut milk kabocha squash soup, lemongrass-marinated slow roasted turkey breast, and a vegetarian sweet potato crepe. South Slope’s Siren Oyster Bar & Restaurant will be offering guests a three course prix-fixe dinner for $95 per person. The menu features festive favorites like roasted turkey, butternut squash soup, herb stuffing, pumpkin pie and a few classics like their 18 hour prime braised short rib and branzino. Reserve here.
Alchemy Restaurant & Tavern will be serving their regular menu as well as special Thanksgiving offerings, such as their traditional turkey dinner (turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce) for $32, a kids’ plate for $19, a vegetarian plate (pan seared tofu, mashed potatoes, stuffing, brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce) for $27, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream for $12. Pan Latin cooking restaurant Palo Santo will be serving a three course Thanksgiving prix-fixe menu for $75 per person, as well as a $25 wine flight and $45 kids menu. Offerings will include a traditional turkey option as well as turkey with a Palo Santo flair—plus fish and vegetarian options. Reserve here.
