✨ Openings: Popular Portland-based pizzeria Il Leone is opening on Nov 13 at 158 7th Avenue in the former Bar Vinazo space.

Artisanal jewelry shop Goldfinch is opening soon. Check out this photo they shared of their signage going up at 169 5th Ave at the corner of Lincoln Place.
Barnes & Noble is now set to re-open on November 12th, according to a sign on their door (thanks Park Slope Together for the tip)!
Andamiro, a new Korean restaurant, will open where Naruto Ramen used to be at 276 5th Ave on November 17. Led by Chef Suho Lee, whose background includes Eleven Madison Park, The Standard East Village, and The Wythe Hotel, Andamiro will serve gukbap - a hearty, comforting Korean rice soup.

Brooklyn businesses are pitching in to help SNAP recipients during the shutdown and delays to vital food benefits started on Saturday Nov 1. The Trump administration said on Monday that 40 million SNAP recipients will only get partial payments and it is not clear when those reduced payments will be distributed. Union Market has signed a lease for a 10,000-square-foot grocery store at 499 President in Gowanus. [New York Business Journal]
Cobble Hill Ballet has signed a 10‑year lease for 5,803 square feet at 300 Huntington Street in Gowanus. [Commercial Observer]
The proposed 14-mile IBX light-rail aiming for completion around 2030 will link Brooklyn (Sunset Park) and Queens (Jackson Heights), cut cross-borough travel to about 32 minutes, serve 19 stops, and drive thousands of new homes. [The New York Times]
Prospect Park has received a $10 million endowment from philanthropist Shelby White via the Leon Levy Foundation to support its forest and natural areas - especially on the Ravine (recovering from last year’s fire) and the Lakeside area, with thousands of native plants to be planted in the coming weeks.
