Electric Lotus Tattoo, a new Park Slope Tattoo Parlor, is now open at the former location of Earth & Me. “After 10 Years of being located in Fort Greene we have moved to North Park Slope!! Marking 25 years in Business we are Grateful to all of our Customers, Neighbors and Friends along the way…Starting this New Chapter at 233 5th Avenue.”
As updated last week (tip off from The Infatuation), Pies ‘n’ Thighs is coming to Park Slope! The Williamsburg favorite is opening a second location at 224 Flatbush Ave (former Pecking House location). Pies ‘n’ Thighs is owned by Sarah Sanneh (also co-founder of Heaps Ice Cream in Park Slope).
From the Pies ‘n’ Thighs team: “The restaurant is slated to open in early 2026 – just in time to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Best known for serving some of the city’s best fried chicken, buttery biscuits, and decadent desserts, Pies ‘n’ Thighs has received numerous accolades over the years, including Best Fried Chicken and Best Biscuit in America by Food & Wine, The Absolute Best Fried Chicken and Best Donut in New York by New York Magazine, and has collected high-profile fans ranging from Martha Stewart (“The best fried chicken I’ve ever had”) to Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys, who once mentioned Pies ‘n’ Thighs in a rhyme.”

Closings:
No Filter Coffee closed on Jan 7th. They will be missed! The new owners will keep the cool gothic aesthetic of the space.
Daily Dose Juice Bar on 12th street has closed. We’re sorry to see them go!

Community note: Following a fatal incident at Methodist Hospital, local leaders and hospital officials emphasized that the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the community, while neighbors expressed shock and support for staff and patients.
After almost 20 years in Park Slope, VSpot Restaurant is now opening on weekends only “to continue serving you the quality you deserve…this adjustment allows us to remain sustainable while putting our full energy into the days we can serve you best”.
PureGym, previously Blink Fitness, received more than two dozen violations from The New York City Fire Department for their scan-to-exit system. The system was recently installed at the Park Slope location.

Reading Resistance: Grey Rock @ The Old Stone House, 7pm: Welcome to Reading Resistance, a series of plays at the Old Stone House that explore theater as a form of resistance. Listen to classic plays and new works read by world-class actors. Bask in whimsical visuals provided by animation, projection, and puppetry. Grey Rock follows a retired widower in Palestine, once imprisoned for his political protest.
